Frequently Asked Questions by Owners

Q. I want to put a link for advertisers to create a new ad on my "Advertising Information" page. How do I do that?

So long as your "Advertising Information" page has your ads from Igloo on it to, then it is very simple. Create a link that has a css class of "iglooClickToAdvertise" and the link will automatically open the "Create Ad" box when clicked.

i.e.:
<a class="iglooClickToAdvertise" href="http://www.igloohq.com/">advertise here</a>

Q. How do I get my money?

At the moment all payments between the website owner and the advertiser go automatically to your paypal account. The money goes directly to you. So the real question is how are you going to pay Igloo?

Q. How does the advertiser pay me?

As soon as you approve an ad, the advertiser is notified. If you have selected to have Igloo manage advertiser payments, then the notification will give them a link to a page where they can pay with Paypal. This will go directly into your account, and you will be notified that they have paid. The ad will also automatically start showing at the right time. You don't have to do anything else.

If you have selected not to have Igloo manage advertiser payments, then you will need to manually invoice the advertiser. When the payment is received, then you will need to manually mark the invoice as "paid" in the management interface.

Q. What is a Bonus?

A bonus is a way of encouraging your advertisers to spend a little bit more to get a bit more value for their money. If an advertiser was going to spend $90, but if they spent $100, they would get an extra 10 days of advertising, then perhaps they will spend the extra.

Q. What is a Coupon?

A coupon is a way for you to have targetted sales. You create a coupon with an expiry date, and then send that coupon code to users that might not otherwise advertise. This will encourage them to advertise, but doesn't force you to lower your prices for everyone.

One of our users also had the idea of sending out a tweet with a coupon code in it, for any followers that were interested in advertising. This also gives value to your readers who subscribe to your twitter feed.

Q. What do I do if an advertiser wants a refund?

My advice is: pay it. It is very easy to do in Paypal and you will have a customer that feels a lot safer about doing business with you. For how to do it go to Paypal refunds. You will not receive fee refunds from Paypal or Igloo if you refund your client.

Q. What do I do if I want a refund?

I am very sorry that you feel that way. Send an email to igloo@igloohq.com and you can be refunded all of your current subscription, and any unused usage fees. I would really appreciate knowing why, and what went wrong. I thought we were doing really well!
